The Yankee STARS shine BRIGHT at the All Star Game
The New York Yankees had the SECOND best record in baseball going into the All Star Break so they were WELL represented at the All Star Game on Tuesday night in Cleveland. There were FIVE Bombers that appeared in the game and ALL but ONE made an IMPACT in the game. EVEN THOUGH CC Sabathia was NOT on the All Star Game, he was HONORED by the MLB during the game because this is his LAST season and he BEGAN his career with the Indians.
The American League WON their SEVENTH game in a row with the FINAL score of 4-3, the pitcher credited with the WIN was Yankee Mashairo Tanaka and Aroldis Chapman came into to get the SAVE for the American League.

OFFENSIVELY, Gary Sanchez hit a DOUBLE and came around to SCORE in this LOW scoring affair, while Gleyber Torres was able to get ON base with a HIT in the EIGHTH.

IRONICALLY, the ONLY Yankee that had NO impact on the All Star Game was DJ LeMahieu, who went 0-2, and there is a GOOD argument that DJ LeMahieu is the American League MVP for the FIRST half of the season.
CC Sabathia is ONE of the BEST pitchers of his generations and he has made it CLEAR that this is his LAST season playing and so the MLB did a GREAT thing by inviting him to the festivities this week since he BEGAN his GREAT career in Cleveland and threw out the FIRST pitch. In the NINTH, CC came in as a “Pitching Coach” to have a MEETING with Chapman and it was ONLY designed so that the crowd could give CC a STANDING ovation that he RIGHTLY deserved.

OVERALL it was a GREAT night for the Yankees in Cleveland as they made HUGE contributions to the Midsummer Classic. Being the BEST team in the league, the Yankees have HIGH expectations for the season and when the stars get back to New York they can start preparing for the STRETCH run of the season, that HOPEFULLY ends with their TWENTY EIGHTH Championship.
BY THE WAY, Brad Hand was named an All Star and ALMOST blew the game for the American League. I get that he was Cleveland thus SHOULD HAVE BEEN at the game, but it is a CRIME that Adam Ottavino was NOT an All Star. That is some Yankee BIAS.
