The Yankees DESTROY the Blue Jays before going ACROSS the pond

The 2019 Yankees maybe WOUNDED but they are NEVER dead

The New York Yankees are CURRENTLY in the AIR heading to London to take on the Boston Red Sox this weekend. Before they headed ACROSS the Pond they CONCLUDED their Homestand by BEATING up on the Toronto Blue Jays. The Bombers went 9-1 on their Homestand and have ALL the MOMENTUM in the world as they head to London to play TWO games this weekend with a chance to END the Red Sox season.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Series RECAP:

Game ONE: The Yankees were coming OFF a LOSS to the Houston Astros but had won EIGHT of their last NINE coming into the night, BUT the Blue Jays KILLED the momentum in the stadium before MOST people got to their seats.

The Blue Jays scored TWO in the inning and were creating HAVOC on the base paths for CC Sabathia so it looked like it was going to be a LONG night for the Yankees, who were being SHUT OUT going into the FIFTH.

Aaron Sanchez came in to game pitching HORRIBLE for the Blue Jays but he was LIMITING the Yankees, BUT the AMAZING thing about the Yankees this season is their GREAT lineup that is NEVER going to DIE and Aaron Hicks FLIPPED the game on its head with ONE swing in the FIFTH.

CC CALMED DOWN after the ROUGH first and pitched SIX innings giving up just those TWO runs in the FIRST. In the BOTTOM of the SIXTH, the Yankees had TWELVE batters come to bat, so it was a BIG inning for them and the HIGHLIGHT came off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton, who hit his FIRST BOMB of the season.

DJ LeMahieu scored on BOTH of those home runs as went 4-4 in the game, he has been a GODSEND for the Yankees this season getting ON BASE at the LEADOFF spot and INCREASING the PRESSURE for the OPPOSING pitcher.

The Yankees were CRUISING in the game UP 10-2 going into the EIGHTH, manager Aaron Boone brought in Jonathan Holder IN to get the REMAINING outs in the games. Holder had really STRUGGLED recently so building his CONFIDENCE would be HUGE for the bullpen but there is NO WAY that he turned the game into a SAVE situation right? Right?

Holder gave up a SOLO shot to the FIRST batter he faced to turn the game to 10-3 but he was FAR from being DONE. He then LOADED the bases with NO outs in the inning and gave up a GRAND SLAM to Freddy Galvis to pull the Blue Jays within 10-7, which meant this game was a SAVE situation. Boone had to bring in Chad Green, Adam Ottavino, and Aroldis Chapman to get the last SIX outs of the game and the Yankees HELD ON and WON 10-8.

Tuesday was a DESIGNED Bullpen game so having to use Green on Monday Night RUINED the plans for the Yankees, who after the game SENT Holder to AAA and also Designated Kendrys Morales for Assignment. Morales was a FINE replacement but since the team is HEALTHY now, there was NO spot for him on the roster.

Game TWO: The Yankees went with the OPENER on Tuesday night with Chad Green pitching the FIRST inning and handing it off to Nestor Cortes Jr. The Yankees were 6-0 in games started by OPENERS going into the game and won their SEVENTH game started by OPENER as they hit FOUR solo home runs including the first TWO batters of the game.

That Home Run by DJ LeMahieu was a RECORD BREAKING one for the Yankees as they hit ATLEAST one home run in TWENTY EIGHT straight games which is a MLB record. It is AMAZING to thing that in the 150 year HISTORY of the MLB, the 2019 Yankees have hit the MOST consecutive home runs of ANY team.

EVEN THOUGH Aaron Judge came back on Friday night, he had NOT looked great but on Tuesday night, he SENT this ball over the FENCE and HOPEFULLY gets hot and starts MASHING the ball.

Gleyber Torres, when he arrived to the Yankees from the Chicago Cubs, he was NOT supposed to HIT home runs but RIGHT NOW he is ON PACE to hit FORTY bombs this season, so the scouts were WRONG on him. He has EMERGED into a GREAT overall player BUT when the Yankees are HEALTHY he is going to bat NINTH on most nights and that is a SCARY thought for the rest of MLB.

This was a CHEAP home run for Edwin Encarnacion but he now LEADS the AL in home runs and the Yankees ALSO have the SECOND person on that list and that is ANOTHER SCARY thought for the MLB.

The Blue Jays made things INTERESTING scoring TWO of Cortes towards the END of his outing and had TWO runners on base in a ONE run game in the NINTH against Aroldis Chapman, BUT he got the LAST out and was credited with the SAVE and the Yankees had WON their FIRST series against the Blue Jays this season.

The one BAD thing to come out of the game on Tuesday night was Giancarlo Stanton getting HURT when a Blue Jay stepped on Giancarlo’s hand with cleats and he was taken OUT of the game with a Knee Contusion. The MRI results on him came back that he suffered a PCL Strain and is going to OUT for a WHILE. Stanton, the 2017 NL MVP has played just NINE games this season, for MOST teams this would be CRIPPLING news but for the Yankees it is NOT even a BLIP on the RADAR, that is how LOADED they are on offense.

Game THREE: The Yankees were looking for the SWEEP on Wednesday in their LAST game before heading to London and James Paxton tried his BEST to make sure that the Yanks did NOT get it. He served up a THREE run bomb with NO outs in the game and created a 5-0 deficit for the Yanks. In 2018, the Yankees would PUNT this game and LOOK AHEAD to London, but NOT this year’s Yankees, they churned BACK into the game and this season’s MVP DJ LeMahieu brought them ALL the way BACK.

The Yankees had the LEAD going into the TOP of the NINTH but Zack Britton BLEW the save, but LUCKILY for him Gleyber Torres made sure that Britton was CREDITED with the WIN.

Falling BEHIND 5-0 did NOT stop the Yankees from coming BACK to BEATING the Blue Jays and getting the SWEEP. They are BEATING UP on BAD teams and there are A LOT of BAD teams in the MLB so the Yankees are COASTING through their schedule.

Now the focus shifts to Across the Pond in London for TWO games this weekend. The Yankee team plane is in the AIR as I am writing this blog and they have ALL the MOMENTUM in the world after going 9-1 in their HOMESTAND before the trip. They do NOT play again till Saturday afternoon, so it is a RARE two CONSECUTIVE off days in the MIDDLE of the season for them, which means I NEED to have a SOCIAL life the next TWO nights. I will have a PREVIEW of the London Series on Friday, where the Yankees will have a chance to BURY the Red Sox who are NINE games BEHIND the Yankees right now.

By the way, look at these FIRE outfits:
