I am NOT a fan of this LULL that the Yankees are going through

I could be having MORE fun watching baseball right now

The New York Yankees have been UNDER .500 in the month of June thus far and that is NOT something I thought I would see after they had a SCORCHING HOT May. The SAME situation happened LAST season, when the Yankees fell BEHIND in the AL East during June and were NOT able to MAKE UP the ground, the rest of the way. EARLIER this week, the Bronx Bombers SPLIT a the Subway Series against the New York Mets and now the Bombers are in Chicago to take on the White Sox for a FOUR game set this weekend.

Subway Series Recap:

Game ONE: After RAIN postponed the game on Monday night, the two New York teams were going to play a Double Header on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium. Masahiro Tanaka got the start for the Yankees and he had GREAT first two innings before hitting a WALL in the third. Tanaka gave up FOUR runs in the third as the Yankees fell behind 4-1. This is the THIRD straight start where Tanaka had a GOOD start, which was UNDONE by him giving up FOUR runs in an inning. It was the FIRST inning against the Padres TWO weeks ago, the FIFTH against the Blue Jays last week and then the THIRD on Tuesday afternoon.

LUCKILY for Tanaka, this Yankee team NEVER gives up and Gio Urshela made sure that Tanaka’s POOR inning was WASHED AWAY with a BOMB in the BOTTOM of the THIRD.

The Yankees were NOT done in the THIRD as currently the LEADING vote getter for the American League First Base spot, Luke Voit added ANOTHER moonshot to his campaign to play in the All Star Game.

ALL in ALL the Yankees scored TWELVE runs in the first game as Gary Sanchez hit his TWENTIETH home run of the season LATER on in the game. The TWENTY home runs by Gary are MORE than ANY player in the American League at the time and SECOND right now and he like Voit is the LEADING vote getter for the All Star Game at his position.

Game TWO: In the SECOND game of the day James Paxton took the mound for the Yankees and he had a TERRIBLE start right from the GECKO. Paxton had been GREAT at Yankee Stadium thus far this season but he was just NOT good on Tuesday.

Paxton gave up SIX runs in just 2.1 innings and the Yankee offense was NEVER able to recover and FELL in the SECOND game of the day EASILY to that OTHER team in town.

This series was a MIRROR of their past COUPLE of series in which the Yankees have STRUGGLED and they NEED to fix their ISSUES this weekend against the White Sox, who they STRUGGLED against EARLIER this season. It was RIGHT after that White Sox series that the Yankees went on a HOT streak so I am HOPING that is the case AGAIN next week.

The Yankees have obviously suffered a WRATH of injuries this season BUT they are on the VERGE of getting HEALTHIER as Giancarlo Stanton MASHED the ball in Tampa this week, he is going to be PROMOTED to Scranton this weekend and will LIKELY join the Yankees on Tuesday if he suffers NO setbacks this weekend.

Joining Stanton in Scranton will be OUR LORD and SAVIOR Aaron Judge who is set to BEGIN a REHAB assignment with the Railriders. Manager Aaron Boone said EARLIER today that Judge is going to be there for a FEW days so we ONLY a week to TEN days away from seeing Aaron Judge BACK in the Bronx.

Game 1: Tonight- Ivan Nova vs JA Happ

Game 2: Friday Night- Lucas Giolito vs CC Sabathia

Game 3: Saturday Night- Reynaldo Lopez vs TBD*

Game 4: Sunday Afternoon- Odrisamer Despaigne vs Masahiro Tanaka

*- The Yankees have NOT announced a starter for Saturday night’s game, which means they are LIKELY going with an OPENER in that game as that was SUPPOSED to be Domingo German’s slot, who is currently on the DL.

Just NEED to WIN the series this weekend in the SOUTH Side of Chicago before Giancarlo Stanton starts MASHING the ball in the Bronx come NEXT Tuesday.
