We are ALL going to FORGET Sunday’s Yankee game to FIT my narrative

I like the Yankees using the strategy of BEATING UP on BAD teams

The New York Yankees had ONE goal when they went on a SEVEN game road trip this past week and that was to DOMINATE the TWO opponents. I do NOT know about you, but I would consider going 6-1 an UTTER DOMINATION of the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals. This week, the Yankees return to the Bronx to take the San Diego Padres for a THREE game set starting later this afternoon, before the Boston Red Sox come to town for a HUGE four game set this weekend.

The road trip started the SAME way that it ended for the Yankees as they fell behind EARLY in the FIRST game of the road trip on Monday night and the same thing happened on Sunday afternoon. They fell behind 6-1 to the Orioles on Monday night and 7-1 to the Royals yesterday, this season has taught us ONE thing and that is to NEVER count out this team. They came back to TIE BOTH games in the NINTH and on Monday a HUGE Gary Sanchez home run helped them get the WIN, which was NOT the case yesterday as a ball hit to Gio Urshela took a TERRIBLE hop and allowed the Game WINNING run to score for the Royals in EXTRA innings.

It did NOT take long for Gary to CONTINUE his domination of the Orioles as on his FIRST at-bat since the MONSTER home run on Monday night, he did the SAME thing.

The ONLY person HOTTER against the Orioles than Gary is Gleyber Torres, who is practically the OWNER of the Baltimore Orioles Franchise, he hit FOUR home runs this week against them bringing his season total against the Orioles to TEN!!!

After the Yankees took care of the Orioles and SWEPT them in the FOUR game series they headed to Kansas City where they were FORCED to play a doubleheader on Saturday after the game was RAINED OUT on Friday night.

In the FIRST game of the doubleheader, Luke Voit hit a ball to SATURN to give the Yankees their FIFTH win of this road trip.

In the SECOND game of the day, it was RISP Romine delivering the BIG hits all night as the Yankees SWEPT the doubleheader and won SEVEN in a row.

I thought the Yankees had to go 5-2 or BETTER on this road trip, coming into Sunday they were 6-0 on the trip, so they could ONLY go 6-1 at WORSE this road trip. They had the BEST pitcher in baseball, Domingo German on the mound on Sunday so things were going to look GREAT for them, but German did not have it on Sunday giving up SEVEN runs.

Something that we have learned throughout the season is that this team is NEVER dead EVEN after the FINAL out of the game, so this time it was Gleyber and Aaron Hicks getting the Yankees BACK into the game.

It looked like the game was going to be a LONG extra inning game when a ROUTINE ground ball was hit to third with TWO outs in the bottom of the TENTH, but the ball took a WEIRD bounce before Gio Urshela could field the ball and it went into left field which allowed the game winning run to score from SECOND base.

DESPITE the loss on Sunday, this was still a GREAT roadtrip for the Yankees who are seemingly getting HEALTHIER by the day and will return to their REGULAR sooner rather than later.

Didi Gregorius began his REHAB assignment in Tampa but he has ALREADY been PROMOTED to Scranton and should be back to the Bronx in the next week to TEN days. Adding Didi to this ALREADY GREAT defensive infield is going to take the Yankees to the NEXT level defensively.

Dellin Betances and Aaron Judge have BEGUN preliminary steps to getting back, they are STILL very far out from returning to the Yankees but their REHAB procedures are heading in the right direction.

One person whose REHAB procedure is NOT heading in the right direction is Giancarlo Stanton, who suffered a SETBACK this past week and is now SHUT DOWN for TEN days. He has been suffering a TON of setbacks including having issues with his calfs, when his initial injury was a triceps injury, so NO ONE has any clue as to what is going on with him.

James Paxton, which was a SURPRISE injury that happened during the last couple of weeks has seemingly gotten HEALTHIER and is slotted to return to the Yankees and start Wednesday’s game against the Padres, even though the Yankees have YET to announce a starter for that game.

PITCHING PROBABLES against the Padres

Game 1: This Afternoon- Chad Green (Opener) vs Matt Strahm

Game 2: Tuesday Night- Masahiro Tanaka vs Eric Lauer

Game 3: Wednesday Afternoon- TBA (probably James Paxton) vs Chris Paddack

The Yankees are going with an OPENER this afternoon, with Chad Green starting this afternoon. Green has been TERRIBLE this season, so the Yankees DESPERATELY need him to get TWO shutout innings this afternoon before handing the ball off to the bullpen.

The Red Sox have seemed to CURE their early season WOES and they come into the Bronx on Thursday, so the Yankees have to AVOID a classic look ahead spot this week against the Padres.
