The New York Yankees played TWO games in Miami this week and BOTH were very PERPLEXING, but they got ONE win from the series and now head NORTH to Baltimore for FOUR games this weekend. If you ask SOME Yankee fans, the Yankee season ENDED when the Yankees LOST to the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night, but there are THIRTY SIX games remaining in the season so there is NO need to PANIC just yet.
Yankees- Marlins Series Recap:
Game 1- The Yankees have had a HARD time beating up on BAD teams and that looked like the case on Tuesday night. The Yankees managed to score just ONE run in the first ELEVEN innings of the game, but Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankee Bullpen was able to keep the Marlins to just ONE run despite giving them a TON of opportunities to WIN the game, but the Marlins could NOT get that SECOND runner across home plate.
The game was TIED going into the TWELFTH inning and that is when Miguel Andujar, all but LOCKED up the AL Rookie of the Year award and gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead, which they held on to WIN the game.

The BOTTOM of the TWELFTH was NOT great for the Yankees as Aroldis Chapman was the NEXT Yankee to get HURT and was taken out of the game. Tommy Kahnle came and got the THREE outs to get the SAVE.
Game 2- Lance Lynn had been GREAT after coming to the Yankees until his LAST start against the Blue Jays and he continued to be TRASH on Wednesday Night, that is now TWO consecutive BAD starts for Lynn, which could NOT come at a WORSE time for the Yankees. On Wednesday he gave up a BACK BREAKING three run home run, which resulted in him getting the LOSS.
The Yankee Bullpen was GREAT on Tuesday Night, but that was NOT the case on Wednesday. Chance Adams, who was called up to REPLACE Chapman in the Bullpen was TRASH and the Yankees LOST the game 9-3 and SPLIT their FOUR games against the Marlins this season.
Wednesday Night’s game SNAPPED a FOUR game WINNING streak for the Yankees and it was a TERRIBLE game for the Yankees, but the offense was BAD in BOTH games. Managing to score just FIVE runs against the Marlins is UNACCEPTABLE and EVERYBODY on the team EXCEPT Neil Walker and Miguel Andujar did NOT show up this series.
The INJURY BUG continues to go through the Yankee locker room and this time it was Aroldis Chapman who has been dealing Knee issues ALL SEASON, but FINALLY ended up on the DL. Chapman is the ONLY player on the DL for the Yankees that is EASILY replaceable by the likes of Dellin Betances, Zach Britton, AND David Robertson so there is NO need to RUSH him back this season.
The Yankees are going to get BACK one of the players on the DL TONIGHT in CC Sabathia with ANOTHER not far behind. Gary Sanchez is going to play some REHAB games before the PLAN is for him to RETURN to the Yankees NEXT weekend in their LAST series before they go to the West Coast. Aaron Judge and Didi Gregorius are NOT close to coming back and the Yankees NEED them to come BACK.
BEATING UP on BAD teams is something that the Yankees have STRUGGLED at ALL SEASON, but that will need to get FIXED this weekend in Baltimore against the Orioles who are the WORST team in baseball.
