Yankees Series Preview- Mariners

TWO blogs in TWO days AGAIN??

The New York Yankees spend FIVE hours in Washington last night splitting the doubleheader against the Nationals. They returned to New York last night to play the Seattle Mariners for a THREE game series this week before they head on the road. The Mariners and the Yankees are Playoff bound so this series might be a preview of the Postseason.

Yankees- Nationals Series Recap-

Game 1- The 3-3 TIED game resumed in the SIXTH inning from May 15th. The hero of the game was a player that was not even in the Major leagues on May 15th. Juan Soto of the Nationals made the Major Leagues in May and he hit a TWO run Home Run to help the Nationals get a 5-3 WIN and FINALLY end the SUSPENDED game from a Month ago.

Game 2- Sonny Gray was in line to pitch the second game of the day and he has been really GOOD as of late on the road and that continued last night. He gave up TWO runs in FIVE innings including scoring the Game-TYING run for the Yankees. Gray was the SECOND Yankees pitcher to score a run, Masahiro Tanaka scored a run against the Mets last week, but he suffered a Hamstring injury and will be OUT a month. Gray did NOT have to run that fast thanks to Aaron Hicks.

Hicks has not been good this season but he has been getting HOT lately so it might FINALLY make sense why the Yankees Front office is in LOVE with Hicks over the last THREE years despite him being TRASH. Giancarlo Stanton added ANOTHER insurance RBI and the Bullpen BARELY held on to give the Yankees a 4-2 WIN.

The Nationals are an ELITE team so taking TWO out of FOUR games against them this season is ACCEPTABLE for the Yankees. There is a HIGH possibility that these TWO teams meet in the World Series so both team have some film should they meet in the Fall Classic.

The Yankees take on the Mariners for THREE games starting tonight in the Bronx and what could be the SECOND straight series between TWO playoff teams. The Mariners are a GOOD team so the Yankees will get to face ELITE talent before playing the TRASH Devil Rays this weekend.

Yankees- Mariners Series Recap-

Game 1- Domingo German vs Marco Gonzales

Game 2- Jonathan Loaisiga vs Felix Hernandez

Game 3- Luis Severino vs James Paxton

The Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are TIED in the AL East Standings and the Mariners play both of those teams this week so this week is really IMPORTANT for all THREE teams.
