College Football Week 10 Picks

I need my luck from the NFL to rub into College Football

Another week in College Football is coming around which can only mean one thing, that I going to be terrible picking games once again. Last week I went 2-4 with my picks and need a strong week to bounce back and get back to a winning record on the season. Last week there were a couple of great games that I got completely wrong, you can find my recap of last week right here, but I have the recap of my picks down below. College Gameday is at the site of the Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State game, so I will be picking LSU at ALabama inplace of the College Gameday game.

Week 9 Recap:

Game 1- My Pick- Delaware, Actual- Towson

Game 2- My Pick- Texas A&M, Actual- Mississippi State

Game 3- My Pick- Oklahoma outright, Actual- Oklahoma outright

Lock of the Week- My Pick- Michigan State, Actual- Northwestern outright

Upset of the Week- My Pick- Arizona State outright, Actual- USC outright

College Gameday game- My Pick- Penn State outright, Actual- Ohio State won but did not cover

Record for Week 9- 2-4, Overall record after Nine weeks- 22-25

The games I will be picking this week are Towson at Elon, Auburn at Texas A&M, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, Clemson at North Carolina State, Syracuse at Florida State, and LSU at Alabama

Game 1- Saturday Afternoon, Towson at Elon

Towson had a last minute heroic win last week and they will look to carry that momentum for the rest of the season to save people’s jobs in the coaching staff. Elon is currently the best team in the CAA and almost a lock to go the FCS Playoffs. I like Elon in this game, because they will be able to use the home cooking to their advantage and blow out the Tigers.

Game 2- Saturday Afternoon, Auburn at Texas A&M (Line- Auburn -14.5)

This game could have had some juice but the coaches on both sides need the win to save their jobs. Auburn can still technically win the SEC West so they will be looking to dominate this game, while the Aggies are trying to get into a marquee bowl game. Kevin Sumlin’s job is pretty much gone, but he can make a statement that the team has not quit by beating Auburn this week. I think the spread is way too big in this game, Auburn is not a great team and I do not see them winning this game by more than two touchdowns, so the half point is the only reason I like Texas A&M in this game.

Game 3- Saturday Late Afternoon, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State (Line- Oklahoma State -2.5)

This game is a true rivalry game where both fanbases hate each other and this game has major Playoff implications. Oklahoma has one loss on the season and in my opinion they still do not have the resume to get into Playoffs, but a road win over a long time rival can certainly change that. Oklahoma State can still win the Big 12 and make a case of their own to go to the Playoffs. This game is the definition of a must win for both teams and I think we are in store for a great game on Saturday. In the end I think that Baker Mayfield will make enough plays to win this game as his college football career only has a handful of games left. I like Oklahoma and the points in this game.

Lock of the Week- Saturday Late Afternoon, Clemson at North Carolina State (Line- Clemson -6.5)

Clemson has sort of been under the radar this season even though they won the National Championship last season. The Tigers have one loss on the season and that has taken them out of contention for the National Championship, but I think they still have that switch that they can turn on and start winning games again. North Carolina State is coming off a rough game last week and these two teams will probably face each other again in the ACC Championship game. I think that this is the week that Clemson turns on the switch and rolls in the Playoffs. I LOVE Clemson and the points in this game.

Upset of the Week- Saturday Afternoon, Syracuse at Florida State (Line- Florida State -7.5)

One of the biggest disappointments of this season has been Florida State. The Seminoles were the #3 ranked team in the preseason and after Alabama destroyed them in Week 1, everything has gone wrong for them. The team is ravished with injuries and cannot seem to find ways to win games. On top of all that, due to Hurricane Irma, their schedule has been messed up and they do not seem ready for games. Syracuse has played well against good teams this season and did in fact upset Clemson a couple of weeks ago. I think this game will remain close and the winner of the game will win by a touchdown or lose. The hook has tempted me to take Syracuse in this game.

National Spotlight game- Saturday Night, LSU at Alabama (Line- Alabama -21.5)

This game is usually the toughest game on the schedule for both teams but for Alabama this is going to be a cakewalk. Alabama has not had a close game all season and will probably blow out LSU in this game. The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings came out this week and Alabama was not the top team in the country because they have not really played anyone good, I think that this week they destroy LSU to make a statement to the selection committee. LSU has not had a great season and they need to win this game if they want to consider this season a success, if they do win this game then I think that Coach Orgeron’s job is safe otherwise he might be out after the season. I LOVE Alabama and the points in this game, I think they win this game by thirty points at least.

My picks for this week are Elon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Clemson, Syracuse, and Alabama. Check back next week to see how I do.
