I have no idea how people make money betting on College Football, it is so unpredictable. I went 2-3 last week and am now have a losing record on the season once again. This week I will look to bounce back and try to get some wins and get in the money again. You can find my full recap of last week’s College Football action right here, but I have my recap of picks down below.
Week 8 Picks Recap-
Game 1- My Pick- New Hampshire, Actual- New Hampshire
Game 2- My Pick- Kansas State, Actual- Oklahoma won but did not cover
Lock of the Week- My Pick- Virginia outright, Actual- Boston College outright
Upset of the Week- My Pick- Navy outright, Actual- Central Florida outright
College Gameday game- My Pick- Michigan, Actual- Penn State outright
The games for this week are Delaware at Towson, Mississippi State at Texas A&M, Texas Tech at Oklahoma, Michigan State at Northwestern, USC at Arizona State, Penn State at Ohio State.
Game 1- Saturday Afternoon, Delaware at Towson
This game is considered a rivalry game and it is also Homecoming for Towson, so maybe more than ten fans will be at the game. Delaware has been pretty good season, but were shutout the last time they played at Towson. On the other side, Towson has really struggled this season and needs to win this week to make some little noise this season. I will take Delaware in this game, because they are much better than Towson right now.
Game 2- Saturday Night, Mississippi State at Texas A&M (Line- Pick em)
This is a game between two teams who will like to finish second in the SEC West and possibly go to a New Year’s Six bowl. Texas A&M has recovered well from their early season losses and might be ranked going into next week if they win today. Mississippi State has had a surprise season and they love to beat Texas A&M every season, right when they have their hopes up. I will Texas A&M in this game, because they will be able to use the 12th Man to their advantage.
Game 3- Saturday Night, Texas Tech at Oklahoma (Line- Oklahoma -20.5)
Last week was the first time all season that I picked an Oklahoma game correctly, I cannot wait till I am wrong once again this season. Oklahoma is in the part of its schedule where it needs to survive and advance. They play Oklahoma State and TCU in the next two weeks so they need to get the job done this week at home against Texas Tech, who has an offense that can stay in the game. I will take Oklahoma and the points, because I think they have finally found their groove and getting ready to demolish their opponents.
Lock of the Week- Saturday Afternoon, Michigan State at Northwestern (Line- Michigan State -2.5)
Michigan State is quietly having a really good season, obviously their big win was against Michigan a couple of weeks ago, but they have been playing well the last few weeks. They play Northwestern this week who is not great but keeping games close. I think that this week Michigan State’s defense will shut down Northwestern and they will win by a field goal or more.
Upset of the Week- Saturday Late Night, USC at Arizona State (Line- USC -2.5)
I do not understand why Vegas still favors USC in games. They are trash and quarterback Sam Darnold has been really bad after the high expectations in the preseason. Arizona State sees this game as a way of taking the lead in the Pac-12 South and possibly getting into a New Year’s Six bowl game. I will take Arizona State to win this week under the lights in the desert.
College Gameday game- Saturday Afternoon, Penn State at Ohio State (Line- Ohio St -6.5)
This is going to be the best game of the season thus far. Ohio State finally has the chance to recover from its early season loss and get back in the Playoff conversation, while Penn State is going to use this game to get some respect. The Nittany Lions beat Ohio State last year and have not lost a regular season game since but they are still a touchdown underdog despite being the higher ranked team. I think that Penn State and their star running back Saquon Barkley keep this game close and the winner will win the game by a field goal or less.
My picks for this week are Delaware, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Arizona State, Penn State.
