Welcome back to College Football picks that are looking for a sponsor. Last week I went a really bad 2-3 in my picks and am awfully close to dropping below .500 on the season. This week I have five weeks to try and right the ship. You can find the full recap of Week 5 in College Football here. Towson is on a bye this week, so I will be picking Oklahoma this week, a team that I have not picked correctly all season, they might become a permanent member of the picks if I am wrong again this week.
Week 5 Recap-
Game 1- My pick- Towson, Actual- Villanova
Game 2- My pick- South Carolina, Actual- Texas A&M win but did not cover
Lock of the Week- My pick- Wisconsin outright, Actual- Wisconsin win but did not cover
Upset of the Week- My pick- Miami (OH), Actual- Notre Dame outright
College Gameday game- My pick- Clemson outright, Actual- Clemson outright
Record for Week 5- 2-3, Overall record after Week 5- 13-12
The games of this week are Iowa State at Oklahoma, Alabama at Texas A&M, LSU at Florida, Washington State at Oregon, and West Virginia at TCU.
Game 1- Saturday Afternoon, Iowa State at Oklahoma (Line- Oklahoma -30.5)
The Sooners are a Top 5 team and have the inside track to the College Football season. They are undefeated on the season, but I have been wrong on them all season, with my against the spread picks. When I pick them to not cover, they cover, but when I do pick to cover, they barely win. I am going to pick them to cover this week, so if you are a gambler than lay all your money on Iowa State this week.
Game 2- Saturday Night, Alabama at Texas A&M (Line- Alabama -25.5)
Alabama is by far the best team in the country and has been blowing out all their SEC opponents. Texas A&M is better than what people are giving them credit for, if not for a historical comeback they would be undefeated on the season. I think that Alabama will easily win this game and should not be on Upset Watch, but the line is way too big. I expect this game to roam right around a three touchdown deficit for the Aggies, so I will take them as my against the spread pick.
Lock of the Week- Saturday Late Afternoon, LSU at Florida (Line- Florida -2.5)
LSU had one of the worst losses for a Power 5 conference last week and I do not expect them to recover this week. LSU is fully spiraling down and are probably going to end up with five losses on the season, one of which will come this week against the Gators. Florida is a good team that does not have any offense, but that will not matter this week. I am taking Florida and the points in this game.
Upset of the Week- Saturday Night, Washington State at Oregon (Line- Washington State -2.5)
Washington State had one of the biggest wins in program history last week and have all the momentum in the world. Their head coach Mike Leach has been in the national spotlight this week, along with their star quarterback Luke Falk. This game is one of the ones that good teams overlook. Oregon is under a new head coach who is laying down a foundation to rebuild the program and a big win over a divisional opponent will be huge for them. I am taking Oregon to win this game outright at home.
College Gameday game- Saturday Late Afternoon, West Virginia at TCU (Line- TCU -13.5)
The two teams are undefeated on the season and looking to get a big win early in conference play. I think eventually both these teams will lose to Oklahoma, but I expect this game to be close. West Virginia does not have a good defense, but I think they will keep this game close. I think either team could win the game with one possession score, so I will take West Virginia against the spread.
My picks for Week 6 of the College Football season are Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida, Oregon, and West Virginia
