Welcome back to everyone’s favorite segment College Football Picks. This is edition number four and last week we finished in the green once again, you can find the full recap of last week here, but I have my recap of picks down below. I have five more picks this week to try make you some more money. College Gameday is in New York City and is not covering a specific game, so I will pick the “Saturday Night Football” feature game on ABC instead of the College Gameday pick.
Week 3 Recap-
Game 1- My Pick- Towson, Actual- Towson outright
Game 2- My Pick- Texas A&M outright, Actual- Texas A&M outright
Lock of the Week- My Pick- USC, Actual- USC win but did not cover
Upset of the Week- My Pick- Oklahoma win but did not cover, Actual- Oklahoma outright
Gameday Pick- My Pick- Clemson outright, Actual- Clemson outright
Record for Week 3- 3-2, Overall record after Week 3- 8-7
The games I will be picking this week are Towson at Stony Brook, Arkansas at Texas A&M, Oklahoma at Baylor, UCLA at Stanford, and Penn State at Iowa
Game 1- Saturday evening, Towson at Stony Brook
Towson opens it CAA schedule with a road game in Long Island. This game is a must win for the Tigers if they want to make the Playoffs, because Stony Brook is a middle of the pack team. Stony Brook was competitive in the game against USF, which is ranked in the Top 20 in the AP FBS poll. Right now, I would say that Stony Brook is slightly better than Towson and because they are at home, I will take Stony Brook to win the game.
Game 2- Saturday afternoon, Arkansas at Texas A&M (Line- Texas A&M -2.5)
The Aggies coasted in their game last week and go into SEC play as 2-1 team that will finish in middle of the SEC West. Both teams are average and have had bad loses atleast once this season. In this game I will take Texas A&M and the points, because I do not think the Razorbacks are good enough to win a game on the road.
Lock of the Week- Saturday evening, Oklahoma at Baylor (Line- Oklahoma -27.5)
Oklahoma is one of the best teams in the country, while Baylor might be in the bottom five. Oklahoma losing this game will be the biggest upset in North American Sports history. I picked that the Sooners will not cover last week and they blew out Tulane, so I will change my mistakes this week. I am rolling with Oklahoma and the points in this game.
Upset of the Week- Late Saturday night, UCLA at Stanford (Line- Stanford -7)
UCLA is playing its first Pac-12 game of the season by traveling north to Stanford. The Cardinals are not a good team and I do not understand why they are favored in this game. The Bruins lost a shootout last week and I expect them to right the ship this week and win the game. I will be taking UCLA to win the game outright.
Spotlight game of the Week- Saturday night, Penn State at Iowa (Line- Penn State -12.5)
Penn State is currently the top ranked team in the Big 10, but this game will be tricky for the Nittany Lions. Iowa is never blown out in big games. I expect this game to go very similar to the Michigan at Iowa game last season, in which the Hawkeyes won the game by a late field goal. I expect Penn State to win this game by one touchdown or less, so I will be taking Iowa in this game against the spread.
My picks this week are Stony Brook, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Iowa. Check back next week to see how I do.
