Welcome back to College Football picks which is still looking for a sponsor. I wet the bed last week and fell back to .500 overall. This week is big so hopefully we can finish in the money once again. You can get the full recap of last week here, but I have put a recap of my picks down below and some picks for this week.
Week 2 Recap
Game 1- My Pick- Maryland, Actual- Maryland
Game 2- My Pick- Texas A&M, Actual- Texas A&M
Game 3- My Pick- Missouri outright, Actual- South Carolina outright
Game 4- My Pick- Texas win but not cover, Actual- Texas outright
Game 5- My Pick- Ohio State outright, Actual- Oklahoma outright
Record for Week 2- 2-3, Overall record after Week 2- 5-5
This week the games I will be picking Towson at Saint Francis, PA, Louisiana-Lafayette at Texas A&M, Texas at USC, Tulane at Oklahoma, and Clemson at Louisville
Game 1- Saturday night, Towson at Saint Francis, PA
The Towson Tigers got destroyed by Maryland last week and that type of stuff usually carries over into next week. It seems like these two teams play every year and Towson usually wins a close game. I do not know much about Saint Francis so I am going to go ahead and give the slight edge to Towson, who will win this game.
Game 2- Saturday afternoon, Louisiana-Lafayette at Texas A&M (Line- Texas A&M -24)
The Aggies got their first win of the season last week beating up on Nicholls State. The game was much closer than people expected and there were times that it looked like the Aggies could possibly cough up this game. They are still figuring things out and going through some growing pains, so this big of a line seems odd. I will say this a lot in these type of blogs, but Vegas usually knows more than the average person, so I will take the Aggies and the points in this game.
Game 3- Lock of the Week, Late Saturday night, Texas at USC (Line- USC -15.5)
USC looks like it is back and Texas still stinks. This is the rematch of the Rose Bowl game that allegedly never happened due to scandals. The emotions will be high in this game, but the Trojans will use the home crowd to win this game easily. Future Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has looked great thus far and he will get another big win by beating up on the Trojans. The line is very big, but I will take a risk and take USC and the points in this game.
Game 4- Upset of the Week, Saturday evening, Tulane at Oklahoma (Line- Oklahoma -35.5)
Oklahoma had the biggest win of the season last week, so they are due for a letdown. I have no doubt in my mind that the Sooners will win this game but the line is very big. Tulane is not very good, but I think they will do enough to keep this game around a five touchdown deficit. I will take Oklahoma to win the game but Tulane as my against the spread pick.
Game 5- College Gameday, Saturday Night, Clemson at Louisville (Line- Clemson -3)
This is the biggest game of the week and the winner of this game very well could end up representing the ACC in the College Football Playoff. Both teams have looked great thus far and the offense of Louisville against the pass rush of Clemson will be the key match up of this game. Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the country and Clemson has the pass rush to slow him down. This game is going to be really good and I will take Clemson to win this close game.
To recap, my against the spread picks are Towson, Texas A&M, USC, Tulane, and Clemson. Check back next week to see if I finished in the money
