Every time I blog about the Yankees, I want to talk about lowering expectations for them, but it they do not want me to do that. The Yankees are currently in a soft spot of their schedule and they look like a true contender because they are beating up on bad teams. The Yankees will look to continue their hot streak this weekend against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The Yankees took two out of three games against the Kansas City Royals this week and looked really well doing it. The Yankees lost last night against the Royals, because the opposing pitcher was hot, nothing we can do about that. The Yankees have the best offense in baseball and they take on the Devil Rays’ rotation this weekend which has some holes in it. The Bombers if they continue their offensive output, will for sure be playing meaningful games in late September and well into October.
The Yankees rotation continues to be the most inconsistent thing about this time. The veterans CC Sabathia and Michael Pineda had great outings against the Royals, while the rookie Jordan Montgomery really struggled. There is no pitcher on this rotation, that we know will put up a good start for sure or a bad start. This rotation relies heavily on the offense to bail them out of games.
The Yankees need to go 7-3 or 8-2 in their ten games, if they want to continue the great season that they are having currently. I expect them to win the first two games of this series and have a very good chance to win against Chris Archer on Sunday.
